The app world has umpteen options for entrepreneurs on the run. From basic utilities like mail check to stress busting games to even actually running a whole business empire with the tap/click of the latest smartphone. According to a popular study, one-third of the American small business owners use their smartphone devices to manage their business operations.

The sudden burst of smartphone technologies is so gigantic that despite the latest inventions, updates and add-ons, most entrepreneurs are unable to keep track with these changes. Nor can they use every technology at their disposal. What's important in the scene of things is the ability to choose the "right" and "most essential" applications that will help them perform basic business functions at every front.

'Innovation' and 'Invention' are two timeless concepts. In every new century, every new generation there comes a whole new series of things that transform the ordinary way of life.

Taking a round about view of the present century, I am baffled almost everyday at the kind of inventions that keep happening and we are not even aware of them. And yet we take pride in living the "Digital Age". Well this is not to annul the usefulness of the Internet and its props in any way, but just the longing of a shamanic soul who loves to explore everything creative under the sun.

So here I was on a routine exploration sortie and was stuck by some absolutely useful yet simple products that I felt all of us should know.

As we see the 40-hour work week fade to memory, we (sadly) no longer have the luxury of leaving our work in our office and on our computer screens. Employees expect you to be able to respond to their emails, check multiple calendars, and forward contacts even if you're at your son's T-ball game.

Don't fret though; there are pleasantries in smartphone ownership. Smartphone features can make the everyday grind a little less... abrasive. At the same time, the right smartphone can also boost your business. The following is a breakdown of some smartphone options from start to finish: basic features and apps to better your life, followed by different phones to consider, and wrapping up with some of the best apps to better your business.

Imagine how it would feel if you could teach your kids music, all on your own with no prim-faced tutors, no instruments, no rushing back-n-forth for classes and absolutely the fun, fun way.

Sounds outright awesome! right?

E-junkie brings for you a special musical project today- MusicInk. A product by two young Italian product design students  from the Politechnico diMilano, MusicInk is a creative idea ; a "educational toy" that caught our attention.

Designers- Gilda Negrini and Riccardo Vendramin, took up a Autoproduzioni course under noted artists like Stefano Maffei, Babara Parini and Andrea Gianni at the institute.

Their musically viable idea was premised on their common love for kids. "We were looking for something who would help us to give people a different music experience, and to teach children the basics of sound in a funny and new way."

The Silicon Valley alumni, Max Levchin, the hand behind Paypal's pioneering online security and fraud prevention mechanism, just went trotting his own way to launch his own mobile payments startup- Affirm.

Odd as the move is, Paypal just earned itself a new business rival alongside Square and Slide. However, the catch is that despite working in the same niche, Affirm is aimed to serve a specific "layer of the payment value chain", that is to enhance the conversion of mobile payments.

It is an open fact that Levchin is a prominent investor in Slide. Way back in his San Francisco based tech firm Hard, Valuable, Fun (HVF) tried to sell Slide to Google like Paypal was to eBay.

If only Shakespeare lived in this century, wouldn't he say a line as tacky as "What's in a Smartphone"?

Well literally everything. From personal thoughts to naughty tidbits to important business information; we carry it all in our hands nonchalantly.

Oh by the way, guess he would be using a smartphone app to write and share this too. That's as real as sarcasm gets! Taking this one-liner in a serious context, smartphones maybe one of the most innovative finds so far by the techies; its your hands-on mini computer that has bridged the gaps in user connectivity irrespective of geography.

The greatest boon of using a smartphone is the amount of technology that's available to the user. All of us lead a "rat-race" life practically wherein being at all the important places is also impossible.

At least once in your lifetime surely. Hey no need to go all red faced there, you aren't a scientific dunce head!

This is exactly the dilemma most mobile app development firms face. Their work actually amounts to rocket science; minus the scientists strutting with thick rimmed nerdy glasses and tottering with test scrolls. Well its easy to take a sarcastic dig but to create something innovative is a hard task.

Once in a while its good to don that appreciation hat folks!

It was not so long ago that the idea of using the Internet on your phone seemed a little farfetched. Even phones that did include some form of internet connection only appeared to include it as a gimmick: connection speeds were too slow and web page renderings were a poor imitation of their desktop counterparts. Due to slow data connections like GPRS many websites adopted a separate "mobile version" of their domain for people visiting from phones.

With the emergence of LTE and larger phone screens a great number of phone users are moving away from these mobile websites in favour of viewing the full desktop version on their phones. While most websites do not bother producing a mobile version most do not even give any consideration to users visiting from a mobile device whatsoever.

Posted: 8/28/2012

Apple like always, this time again is quiet about the yet to-be-launched new device. I guess Apple's CEO Tim Cook is having his share of laughter reading the market speculations about the device. Well you won't know how the device looks like unless you actually get to see it.
