Imagine how it would feel if you could teach your kids music, all on your own with no prim-faced tutors, no instruments, no rushing back-n-forth for classes and absolutely the fun, fun way.

Sounds outright awesome! right?

E-junkie brings for you a special musical project today- MusicInk. A product by two young Italian product design students  from the Politechnico diMilano, MusicInk is a creative idea ; a "educational toy" that caught our attention.

Designers- Gilda Negrini and Riccardo Vendramin, took up a Autoproduzioni course under noted artists like Stefano Maffei, Babara Parini and Andrea Gianni at the institute.

Their musically viable idea was premised on their common love for kids. "We were looking for something who would help us to give people a different music experience, and to teach children the basics of sound in a funny and new way."

MusicInk, according to the creators is a alternative method to teach children, as young as 4 to 5 years, all about the basics of music. Their project so subtly brings creativity and technology together so seamlessly. For some of you, the technicalities may sound too complex but what they have created is a absolutely radical  product in the garb of;a game.

In a exclusive interview with a local blog, the designers explain their concept beautifully:

"MusicInk makes drawings turning into real music, this magical process is due to a mashup of various eterogenous technologies: Conductive Ink  by Bare Conductive, MPR121 controller, Arduino (Duemilanove board), LiPo shield (removed on a second time), Bluetooth shield by Seedstudio, Android platform, Pure Data for Android (libido), Pure Data patch.

Our project was developed with the help of our friend Manh Luong Bui and has been a very hard work.

We started our project studying the possibilities to create new and cheap musical instruments, then we discovered studies about conductive ink and we decided to create something different with these two technologies."

To put it simply, all that you need  to play this musical game is a smartphone. The game has two levels- Simple (young kids) and Complex (technologically better). The drawings are directed to a electric circuit based on Arduino that converts them into "capacitive proximity sensors". In other words, as special ink illustrations are received by inbuilt sensors which are transferred  via bluetooth to the app which transforms them into a sound of a instrument that kids slowly begin to recognize.

The designer duo tested their idea with kindergardners at Dedalo. "The children played with MusicInk and were really surprised to hear their drawings turning into music", they share.

Here is the first-hand video of how the fantastic idea really works. Take a look and get set to teach your kid the first notes about Music.

Hope all of you find their project as innovative as we did ! Leave a reply to let us know what you thought.
