The global recession has brought millions of people online in search of extra ways to make money. Most of these folks will end up on the survey and "get-paid-to" sites. There's nothing wrong with those sites, but for anyone who has ever tried them can attest to, it's a pretty boring way to make a living. I just have no desire to endlessly click or sign up for trial offers. As a result, last year I launched The Penny Hoarder, an online community where we have shared more than a hundred weird ways to make money so far and we are adding a new idea nearly everyday. Here are just 6 of our weird ways to make money online:

As a result, last year I launched The Penny Hoarder, an online community where we have shared more than a hundred weird ways to make money so far and we are adding a new idea nearly everyday. Here are just 6 of our weird ways to make money online:
1. Make Money Listening to Music
Sites like HitPredictor.com and JamBuzzer.com will pay you to listen to new music and rate the song. It's a good way for artists to increase their exposure and hear feedback from fans. It's also a fun way for listeners to get paid for something they are going to do anyway.2. Sell Your Trash on Ebay
The average American creates about 1,600 pounds of trash a year and the sad part is that a lot of it could be sold or recycled for extra money. Things like wine corks, old golf balls, and used magazines can be sold on Ebay. Wine bottles go for around 50 cents each and wine corks sell for around 10 cents a piece. It's not a huge amount of cash, but if you only knew how many wine bottles I've saved from my recycling bin! For some other ideas, check out my list of 7 Pieces of Trash to Sell on Ebay.3. Make Money Naming Companies
If you got a creative tongue, try your hand at a business naming contest. Start-up companies have embraced the newest internet trend called crowdsourcing and are now paying people to help them brand their companies. Check out NamingForce.com and SquadHelp.com to get started. You can submit as many name ideas as you would like and if you come up with the best name, the company will award you with a prize which is usually around $100.4. Make Money Tracking Hurricanes
A new company called Weather Risk Solutions has created an online trading market where you can bet on where you think a hurricane might land. The exchange is still in the beta stages, but the idea is to allow investors the ability to buy options which would pay out in the event that a hurricane lands in the area you bet on. For example, you can purchase the Galveston, Texas option for $30.50. If a hurricane where to unfortunately strike in Galveston, you would be paid $997.40.5. Make Money Trying Cell Phone Apps
Companies like Mob4Hire.com and AppRewards (iPhone App) will pay you to try out mobile apps for developers and report back on your experience. All you need to do is download the app, leave a rating (1-5 stars), and then report if you experienced in trouble with the app crashing, etc.6. Make Money Answering Text Messages for ChaCha.com
ChaCha has been around for awhile and no doubt if you've got any teenagers in the house, you probably know its a schoolboy pastime to send dirty questions to the free answering service. Surprisingly, the questions aren't answered by robots, but rather by regular people from their home computers. It's pretty easy to sign up to be a question answerer at ChaCha.com, but don't expect to make more than $3-$6/hour. You aren't going to get rich doing any of things above, but you might have some fun and who wouldn't mind a little extra pocket cash?To read more informative articles from our wonderful guest authors, you can subscribe to our RSS feed. Thanks for the info!
some of them sounds strange most especially the idea of tracking hurricanes, with a big question mark about the basis on tracking it and its possible effects?
