Whenever I come across creative products like this, I always wonder about this close relationship between simplicity and creativity.

Amplifiear, is a lightweight recyclable plastic ear that when attached to your iPad, enhances the speaker volume. It is created by Evan Cablots, who launched this product as a Kickstarter campaign.

"There are other options; we can use headphones, but they are isolating and only work for personal use.  We can plug our iPad into our sound system with the headphone jack, but this defies the best part of the iPad, its mobility.  Bluetooth speakers drain our battery faster, and even if our sound system is portable, we still have a second device that we need to recharge. " he shares on his Kickstarter page.

Drinks Lab, a London, UK based company, started by Rachit Amin and Chirag Amin who have introduced a home-brew kit that allows you to turn any juice of your choice into a sparkling bubbly.  We had featured a similar product in the past called Spike your juice . Both the products work on the same basic principle i.e.the yeast in the brewing kit breaks down the sugars in the juice into alcohol and carbon dioxide.

The kit basically consists of the brewing mixture, a bung and airlock and stickers to mark the bottles in which you are converting the juice into an alcoholic beverage. The process is as simple as - in an appropriately sized bottle mix the yeast mixture and juice and close with the bung and airlock. Let this mixture stand for 24 hours and lo! You now have an alcoholic flavored beverage. I must mention here that the airlock device is provided so that you do not use the original bottle can to seal the bottle, since doing so can cause the bottle to burst because of the build up of carbon dioxide during the fermentation process. Drinks Lab claims that at the end of 24 hours your juice will contain approximately 4.5% - 5% alcohol and if allowed to mature further and with the right combination of juice and room temperature the alcohol content can go as far as 14%. Drinks Lab is also a very socially responsible company and strictly verifies that the product is being purchased by customers who are at least 18 years of age. The gravity stool is a very ingenious product which is formed out of the interaction of gravity and magnetism, and is the brainchild of designer Jólan van der Wiel, who is based in the Netherlands.

The concept is very simple - a mixture of a quick drying liquid plastic is mixed with magnetic particles and placed in a bowl. Strong set of opposing magnets are suspended around this mixture and slowly the bowl is lowered or the magnets are lifted. This causes the magnetic particles in the liquid  to be drawn towards the magnets thus forming the legs of the stool. This process continues till the required length of the legs is reached. The mixture is then allowed to dry for about half an hour. The liquid in the bowl becomes the top surface of the stool on hardening.

Jólan was awarded the 1st Prize Interior Innovation Award for Young Talent for creating these stools. He terms this process of creation as "having a dialogue with natural phenomenon". He likes the fact that in this series of stools, each and every piece is unique and that it spurs an urge to fantasize, as to what other forms can be created using such tools.

Before writing this post the only thing that I used to love about bottle openers was the 'tuck and whooz' sound, but then I realized that there is so much creativity that can be inculcated into these almost obsolete bar tools. With introduction of plastic bottles, cans and 'twist n open' bottle caps, bottle openers seem to have lost their charm. But thanks to these amazing designers who've managed to pump new life into them.

These designers have taken this simple tool and ingeniously turned them into something so cool & creative, that even if we don't use them, we would love to own them. Thanks to their imagination, we can now open bottles using our shoes, caps, t-shirts and even bikinis.

Shubhra, the founder of this company is an avid traveler and loves to take home a souvenir in form of fridge magnets from every new place that she visits.
