Writing is a solitary craft. But with so many writers out there going through the same pain, blockage, frustration and burn-out, sometimes it helps to turn to another writer for help.

There's a ton of wonderful advice out there for the taking. Tuck some of it behind your ear and write on.

Below are a list of websites that will help you sort out your writing woes and get back to writing better than ever.

Writer's Digest has stood the test of time and is an old favorite of many writers for good reason.

Their tagline is “Write Better, Get Published” and the site is geared towards exactly that. Informative articles from professional writers and editors about everything from improving your craft to the business side of writing. Plus information on retreats, workshops, publishers and writing competitions.

Poets & Writers has been offering support for writers since its print version first came out in 1970. Today, it's web version offers in-depth articles from featured writers and a great “Tools for Writers” section that includes “Prompts for Writers.” Also, it's difficult to find such comprehensive guide to reputable grants and awards as theirs.

Write to Done is a gem for writers. Writer Mary Jaksch doles out valuable advice with posts such as “How to Rekindle Your Love of Writing” and “How to Supercharge Your Writing-Use this Cinematic Technique.” She also offers a personalized critique service.

Writer Unboxed allows you to benefit from the experiences of dozens of contributing professional writers. With posts on a variety of topics, all geared to make your writing better, there's bound to be something to inspire you on this site.

Freelance Writing has bestowed upon its visitors a free ebook with four chapters to that serve to guide your writing towards its best possible incarnation. Say “thank you.”

Men With Pens is just as it sounds: a no-nonsense business oriented approach to good marketing and better writing. Founded by the formidable James Chartrand (who is actually a woman) who has the equivalent of a writer's black-belt with articles in Forbes, The New York Times and Newsweek. Pro tips and services offered on her site.

The Renegade Writer is an ultimate freelancer's advice blog. Its caveat is that it refuses to give you the same advice that's out there for freelancers (you need a blog, you need to slog through crappy jobs before you can land a decent-paying one, etc.) and gives you real advice based on authors Linda Formichelli and Diana Burell's experiences. Take their advice and you won't literally be the same.

Terrible Minds is the blog from novelist, screenwriter and game designer Chuck Wendig. He dishes out raw advice to writers with the occasional adult language thrown in for emphasis.

Kristen Lamb's Blog adds a humorous touch to the sometimes over-serious art of writing. Read along as she drops pearls of writing wisdom in your lap with a generous helping of wit.

Absolute Write is absolutely comprehensive. It caters to those dedicated to “freelance writing, screenwriting, playwriting, writing novels, nonfiction, comic book writing, greeting cards, poetry, songwriting...”. If you fit into one of those categories (and who doesn't?) then this site has something to offer you. Lots of helpful posts on developing craft, marketing, publishing and more.

Jane Friedman's list of credentials is long. She brings her writing, editing, publishing and marketing expertise to your fingertips with her blog. The focus is on writing in the digital age and Friedman will keep you current while honing your craft into a fine-tuned machine.

I've gone through the first 4 and I can definitely say that this list is worth attention. I'd add assignment assistance at http://assignmentjedii.co.uk/ to this list to make it complete.
