With the scorching heat taking its toll, be it home or office, everything seems uninteresting. Stepping out in the sun is not an option for kids. So what happens when the child feels he's endlessly struck at home? How can he bide his time creatively?
This is what got me exploring apps that are creative, fun and easy to understand. I found Draw A Stickman EPIC just then. To describe the app simply, it brings together a sense of adventure and creativity, hones your drawing skills and makes you think too. Now that's nothing short of a package deal, rig ht?
The website launched by Hitcents in 2011, the app was made available on iOS, Android as well as Windows only in 2012. "Draw a Stickman Epic is so unique in its game play, instead of collecting items and hitting switches to progress through each level, you are in direct control over your surroundings through what you create with each new pencil given to you. Your own drawings come to life and help you on your quest!"
Now lets have a look at how it works.
The gaming app requires you to draw figures and objects simply using their directions to uncover an adventure that you are led into. If you have an artistic hand, more's the good.
Drawing a Stickman on the screen gets you started. Added to this character is "a friend" that you get to name. The two characters explore a evil looking book that traps the friend and your stickman nodw has to overcome a set of obstacles to find him. The app is thus rightly names as Draw A Stickman EPIC: The Search for X.
To make your Stickman brave the hurdles and move around on the screen there are two types of control options available: drawing and walking
Choosing the walk option by tapping, the Stickman is allowed to walk straight. You can drop, drag and hold, to help the Stickman when he gets struck at barriers.
The best part of the app is that its design software is so clean that it recognizes the helping tool you want drawn during the task, unlike most other touchscreen games that create problems on this count. Mind you when you are seriously playing and the function doesn't happen, it's so annoying!Coming to the drawing part of the app. The various pencils helps you draw objects of your imagination that you think are appropriate. It doesn't always have to be absolute logical tool you draw. Say for example, you want to unlock a treasure chest, you can draw any object of your fancy to have it opened; not a key necessarily. You can also use fire to destroy a lot of unwanted objects in the backdrop to make your way. Pencil drawing was never so much fun!
Like most games, the app has various levels. Besides the app has a secret puzzle piece in each playing level that is hidden within another simple puzzle. The tasks are fairly simple but requires good application to move on to the next level. As the game progresses, the tasks become difficult as the Stickman gets caught in the monster trap. So beware players!
The gaming app is a fantastic past time for kids and grown up gaming freaks to explore their creative vistas. You really don't have to be a pro to get started but will probably become one at the end of it.
