The Drop
We all like adding a little bit of color to our life, some color here- some  there but in the case of Sameer Hazari its a bit different. Sameer with his art work  adds colors to other's lives. Born and raised in India, Sameer is a telecom engineer and has done his Masters in Fine Arts from Middlesex University, London.

As a child Sameer loved to paint but with time the love faded away and it was during his engineering days when in order to beat the academic pressure, Sameer went back to his childhood passion and fell deeply in love with it yet again.

Sameer's art works are stunning because of the vibrant colors that he uses. His work closely reflects his personal background and experiences, depicting the various shades of human emotions.

Sameer does not restrict himself to working with any particular medium, in fact he uses everything thing from watercolors to spray colors, acrylic to oil. Sameer's work generates a sense of curiosity in the viewer and forces them to interpret the art form from the perspective of their own personal experience. Read on to know more about Sameer and his work.

1. Hi Sameer, please introduce yourself to our reader. What inspired you to become an artist?

I live and paint in Delhi. I specialise in optically interactive art, psychedelia and colour theory. I derive inspiration from math and music. I purpose of my work is to evoke dialogue with the viewer. Currently I'm working on painting illusions.

2. With a degree in Telecom Engineering, what made you switch your profession to an artist?

People have been wonderfully encouraging towards my work. Friends and family have been there to help me pursue things in my own way. Devoting more time to art made me feel more productive and I just went the flow.

3. Do you think the advent of ecommerce has helped artists like you reach a wider audience with relative ease. Just curious to know why don’t you sell your artwork on your own website? How do you promote your art?

I promote my work mostly through word of mouth and social media. I like to document my work the form of photographs and videos. I share it with my network. Ecommerce sites are helpful to artists as more and more people are now opting for online shopping. You can visit my ArtShop here: www.indiebazaar.com/shop/sameerhazari

4. Apart from creating paintings do you dabble in any other form of art? What activities do you like to pursue in your free time? Which of these do you find to be the most de-stressing?

Once you make a profession out of a hobby, there isn't much time left to pursue other hobbies. But I like to click pictures every now and then.

5. What other Artists do you look up to? If you could peek inside the studio/toolbox of any one other artist/craftsperson, whose would it be and why?

Two of my favorite artists are Dali and Escher. I would move in with either of them.

6. What advice would you like to give to aspiring artists/painters?

Asking questions is more vital than finding answers. Keep on painting till you can. And then paint some more.
