To make things clear, if you even try to give "cinnamon challenge" a try, I would assume you to be a dumb attention-seeking person who has nothing better to do with life. Trust me, it is not worth it!

So what the heck is 'The Cinnamon Challenge'?

Well, way back in 2001, someone decided that swallowing a tablespoon of cinnamon, without water, and within 60 seconds (without vomiting) makes you  a super cool person. More than a decade later, people are still trying to accept that challenge. These people end up gagging, vomiting, chocking and coughing hysterically. Some of them were even hospitalized.

And all this for what? Well, because when it comes to being dumb-ass, logic and reasoning hold no meaning what-so-ever. Look at this video below and you'll know what I'm talking about:

Now, let's talk about some serious repercussions to 'The Cinnamon Challenge':
According to doctors, it is practically impossible for a person to digest cinnamon without water. Cinnamon can be very dangerous for your lungs, because its particles prevent air from entering your lungs, causing lung inflammation.
"Your lungs can collapse on you. There have been several cases reported where kids needed ventilator support because they weren’t able to maintain their airway." said Dr Robert Zaid.
Many schools are trying their level best to reason with students, but of course, all in vain. The whole concept of going "viral", makes people do the silliest things. Many schools are in the process of warning parents and children against the cinnamon challenge, since there have been many cases wherein the child had to be hospitalized.

And its not just the children who are being ridiculously ignorant, you will be surprised to know the 'Governor of Illinois' tried this silly act, and players like Nick Young and JaVale McGee (Washington Wizards) didn't think twice before posting their cinnamon challenge videos on YouTube, without realizing how many children will try to replicate their act.

It is an outrageous dare that can do some serious damage to your body. It should make you stop and think about how the Internet can brainwash even the smartest of brains. If someone as honorable as the Governor of Illinois can give it a shot, one can't really blame the children. And you won't even believe that 'The Cinnamon Challenge' Facebook page has almost 11,000 fans, and they proudly call themselves, the "official" cinnamon challenge Facebook page and have shamelessly published their MISSION as:

"To watch people attempt to eat a tablespoon of cinnamon and fail miserably."

I don't know about you, but if I would have been at Mark Zuckerberg's place, I would have been socially responsible enough to put an end to this page. But we can't really blame him, can we?

Because, these days our lives revolve so much around the Internet, that we blindly believe or try anything that becomes popular or viral. I would love to hear your opinion on it, which you can share in the comment section below.

It's really surprising. I was expecting something quite different.
