Photography Web Marketing is a one-stop place for those photographers who aspire to make a strong mark online. From SEO to blogging, web designing to social media; Zach Prez, the publisher of PWM, has a superb knowledge about all of them. Besides providing useful tips, tricks and how-to articles, he has published six E-books to help photographers get more photography clients through their websites.

Zach has been exploring web marketing for past 10 years and guiding photographers yield better results online. What makes 'Photography Web Marketing' our website of the week? Because it helps in lowering the barriers for photographers, it also helps them in establishing and growing businesses by providing easy, informative methods and materials.

We have Zach Prez for a small interview with us. Catch it below and get to know some facts about his website and Zach himself:

Zach, please introduce yourself to E-junkies.

I'm an internet marketing blogger with a focus on marketing for photographers. While I'm not writing ebooks you can find me hanging out with family or riding my bike along the American River in California.

What motivates you everyday?

Besides my family, on the business end I'm motivated by hearing about new Internet trends and thinking about how to take advantage of them. It seems that ever evolving sites like Google, Facebook, Groupon and technology like mobile webpages, constantly change our business approach to marketing. It's fun to scan my RSS feed for new headlines, digest new tactics, then translate the findings into something photographers can understand.

How and when did you start 'Photography Web Marketing'? We would love to know about its inception.

In 2009, I helped a friend rank her photography business in search engines. She saw a major boost in clients and fellow photographers began asking her how she did it. That's when she gave me the idea for a do it yourself guide, which later grew into multiple guides and a supporting website.

If you'd to describe what 'Photography Web Marketing' is all about in not more than 2 lines, what would it be?

My blog and ebooks help photographers learn online techniques for growing a business via search, social media, and blogging.

You've published so many E-books till date. What do you think, how publishing E-books helps authors?

I love the ebook model because it is quick to market with minimum expenses (just ask my tax planner). I can write and produce a guide quickly, then use a blog connected to e-junkie to launch the new product in the same day. I can launch 6 ebooks in the same time a competitor can publish a single print book. My PDFs are half the length of a print book, I can charge twice as much, and avoid costly publisher commissions.

Ebooks allow for links as well. I can easily link to more information with a PDF, or link to an affiliate product that can earn commissions when I refer sales to another website.

Your website is liked by so many people. How does it feel? Did you ever think that it would be as successful as it is now?

I expected to maybe sell a hundred copies (ever), but the nature of photographers is to share and help, so my online buzz exploded. One ebook turned into two, then six! My simple website expanded into a blog, then Twitter and Facebook accounts, then chatter in online forums. I try to put out as much free advice as possible which helps to fuel sales. But the perception of free causes a lot of people to thank me, and it feels good to help grow someone's small business.

I found the fastest way to feel liked is to participate in community forums. Simply answering people's questions without expecting to make a sale is a great way to build a quality reputation. Positive feedback comes quickly and frequently through those channels from people who appreciate the advice.

What are your dreams/vision for 'Photography Web Marketing'?

Not sure, so I'm going to skip this question.

What has been the breakthrough point for your website? Or is it yet to come?

Affiliate opportunities help take my revenue to the next level. I get about 20% of sales from affiliates, who reach audiences I don't have access to. They get a percentage of earnings which I am happy to pay in exchange for 20% growth! Likewise, I have used e-junkie to find other products I can promote through affiliate links. I've grown another 10% by sharing other people's ebooks through my site.

What are on the top shelves of your inspiration library right now? This can be anything - blogs, books, magazines.

I laugh at the fact that my magazine rack is filled with PDFs... printed of course, but online downloads. My favorites right now are Google's ZMOT which is a new perspective on how people make purchase decisions, and some printed infographics from Kiss Metrics on topics like Twitter statistics and the science of social timing.

And a final word for our readers?

It's easy to be a consistent blogger when you enjoy the topic you're writing about. I was lucky enough to find my niche in an Internet world overcrowded with marketing advice. Fortunately though for the Internet, it enabled me to create a revenue stream just by helping others. Many thanks to e-Junkie for making the transition simple and affordable!

Zach, thank you for the interview and sharing your invaluable insight with us. It was a pleasure to have you and E-junkie wishes you all the best for whatever comes your way.
