WASARA's series of tableware made it to our 'Product of the Week', as it is eco-friendly with a rich sensibility and design. And you know how fond we are of green products specially when they are complemented with an awesome concept.
We have one of the members of WASARA team to tell us more about this wonderful series of cups and plates with some eye-catching visuals:
Tell us about the concept of 'Wasara'.
WASARA is a elegant yet sustainable, single-use paper tableware made from environment friendly materials.
How did you come up with this fantastic idea of creating 'Wasara'?
When you picture the scene with disposable tableware being used, it might be either a formal or casual gathering. Japan has one of the most refined food cultures in the world and it is common practice to select tableware that best suits each occasion or cuisine. WASARA is designed exactly to accentuate the delicacy of cuisine and create a rich and warm atmosphere. While WASARA tableware is by design ephemeral, it represents the essence of Japanese tradition and spirit.
Of what materials it is made up of?
It is made up from non-wood renewable materials that includes reed, bamboo, bagasse-sugarcane waste.
Please throw some light on the best features of Wasara.
Sure! Firstly, it is a complete new solution to disposable tableware. Next, all the materials used in creating WASARA are all biodegradable and compostable. The material of WASARA is more expensive than usual wooden pulp. But we choose the tree-free material instead of cheap material for environmental consciousness. Plus, WASARA goes through some excellent techniques of metallic molds and trimming that give it a sturdy support and an elegant form.
Are there any modifications on the way in 'Wasara'?
There are on-going projects to expand the business; one of the plans we could share with the public at this moment is to launch some new tabletop products in the beginning of 2012.
Thank you for the interview and enlightening us with this wonderful product. E-junkie wishes 'WASARA' a great success!
