We've recently started a new series on our blog called, 'Micro Entreprenuers' a project where we are on a mission to find inspiring, self-made business owners who have the courage and a strong determination to do something on their own. We are not talking about big business players, we aren't talking about small business owners either. We are talking about a common man/woman who may not have enough capital to realize their dreams, but have plenty of brains, talent, ideas and enthusiasm, irrespective of how tiny their business may be.

After featuring Mahinder, our very first micro-entrepreneur we found this wonderful duo of musicians who not only have incredible music talent but inspiring story that will make you stop and think for a while.

STORY BLUEMOR BLAZE




























We are Bluemor Blaze with Steffan Rundquist on guitar and vocals from Sweden and Esther Schoenmakers at vocals from Holland.

We met in Spain on the east coast in a bar one night where we were both performing seperately- we clicked. And soon after(few weeks only) we decided to get out of our ‘comfortzone’- we quit our jobs and travelled to north of Spain, 800km away- to go and play in the streets and bars.

We quickly fabricated a nice repertoire of energetic, positive covers of all styles of music- old time jazzy(Cole Porter, Nina Simone), pop/folk(Bob Dylan, Police, Beatles, U2). The duo functioned really well really quickly and we immediately built up a little following of people.

We got inspired and after little time we were writing/composing our own songs and started a real band ‘Bluemor Blaze’, doing everything ourselves on our portable computer; recording, producing, designing, marketing, sales, everything.

We literally had nothing more than a portable computer. No money for rent when we came, and when we found a beautiful abandonned house in the hills we still had no water, no electricity for months...or windows and it was winter..:)

But green grows, ripe rots. And the people around helped us amazingly.

At first it was just like any other little adventure, but it grew into something else.

And here we need to explain something about Steffans past..

He had/has big plans!

He studied first networkmarketing to get financial intelligence and music production. He wanted to take control over his music/songs, publishing, distribution, etc. He studied Robert Kiyosaki, Tim Robbins, Don Campbell and many more inspiring, financial ‘mentors’.(we still listen to their audiobooks every day). He owned his own music label, record/publishing company and distributed his music worldwide, partly through www.tunecore.com.

This all began after the time he was playing in a famous band in Spain(Undrop), about 10 years ago. Making millions, but ‘miraculously’ ending up only with big debts. Big record companies, cheating managers etc..

He decided to return to Sweden for a while with a mission: To get financial intelligence and take control over his situation.

Slowly, slowly Steffan started to share his ideas with Esther and they just worked really well together. Mutual inspiration to create the platform of distribution of their music, how to get into marketing and sales and of course create and perform songs!

The natural thing was to go in the same direction.

Now we distribute our songs to the biggest musicstores in the World; Itunes, Amazon, Nokia, Spotify, etc.
We master our songs with Universal Mastering USA. We get possitive feedback from around the World. We love what we are doing.
