Besides improving the test scores of the students (as they say), it gives teachers a much improved way to impart the knowledge that helps student grasp it more effectively. Lets know the intricacies of StudyShuffle by Noah in the interview below:
Tell us about 'StudyShuffle'.
StudyShuffle makes homework feel a little less like homework. Teachers sign up, distribute class material to their students, and track their progress. Students are presented with the material according to a spaced repetition algorithm; they're shown only the material that StudyShuffle predicts they could forget soon. Students spend a lot of idle time on the internet. With StudyShuffle, they're only a click away from their school work.
Tell us about the inception of 'StudyShuffle'. How did such a creative idea strike you?
StudyShuffle was actually born out of a much more complex idea. Originally, I wanted to create a browser-based real time strategy game, something like Star Kingdoms (http://www.starkingdoms.com/), where users would earn in-game currency by reviewing foreign language learning material. Although I still think the idea has merit, I chose to scale it down and ended up with StudyShuffle.
Do you think 'StudyShuffle' will bring a change in teaching and learning methods?
No. I really don't think this is revolutionary. I just hope this serves as a useful tool which makes current teaching/learning methods more effective.
What languages does it support? StudyShuffle's interface is currently only available in English. Support for other languages is definitely in consideration.
What kind of response 'StudyShuffle' has received so far?
Great! There are a lot of teachers eager to integrate more technology into their classrooms and they love seeing new products.
What is your vision for 'StudyShuffle' as a whole?
At this point, I want to keep StudyShuffle very simple. I hope to have StudyShuffle's development guided largely by its users. As I'm not a school teacher myself, I plan on staying very attentive to customer feedback.
Coke or Pepsi?
Coke. Definitely coke
