You’ve probably been living under a rock if you still haven’t heard of Instagram, an app catering to iPhones and Smartphones that basically involves taking photos, putting in a few filters, and then publishing those photo for all your contacts too see.

Although a relatively simple concept, Instagram has proved to be wildly successful so much that in 2012, Facebook even took notice and decided to purchase the app for 1 billion dollars!

Instagram is relevant, it is cool, and hip, and in many ways,it is rivaling Facebook. It is a great way to promote businesses, launch careers and so on and so forth. However, as with blogging, not everyone is destined to become a great Instagram star.

So the protagonists in our story are a small time, nascent Berlin-based Danish band called the "Efterklang". We, for sure had never heard of them. But exploring their musical journey since 2001 was certainly worth the effort. They have the looks of those old time country bands. Endearing certainly. But their music is very contemporary rest assured.

The first thing to do when considering a reengagement (or reactivation) campaign is to take a look at your lists of unengaged subscribers. Are you going to target former customers who haven’t purchased in a while? Or, are you trying to reenergize people who have been receiving your email messaging but have not opened recent messages or clicked through to landing pages? This is important to determine, especially when it comes to the reengagement emails’ content and offer. I'm never sure how effective that kind of marketing angle is, because all I can ever think about is the three cats who turned their nose up at the dinner being offered, and probably popped next door to see if there was anything better being served up.

The problem with all products is that you will never find anything that pleases one hundred percent of people, one hundred percent of the time.

And this goes for blogs, too.

You don’t want to be in the “mushy middle.” You want people to either love or hate your blog, because when the right people love it, you get business and when the right people hate it you know they won’t be wasting your time.
