Creative and exciting installations always fuels inspiration within me, and that is why whenever I come across such unique ideas for public installations I always share it with E-junkie.info readers.

One of my favorite in the past has been 'Be a Pin Up!' on the streets of London. But these 21 musical streets (21 Balançoires), a recent project by Canadian design collective Daily Tous Les Jours is in the run for becoming the most fun street installation I've heard of.

These swings have pre-recorded sounds of piano, xylophone and other instruments programmed into them. It's all color coded, so whenever people take a swing the program triggers different notes and melodies, people can coordinate their swings to create a new composition. What a fun idea! There's also a 'secret mode' programmed, that will play when all 21 swings are in use at the same time.

"All the swings together compose a piece, but some sounds only emerge from cooperation. The project stimulates ownership of the new space, bringing together people of all ages and backgrounds, and creating a place for playing and hanging out in the middle of the city centre." shares the project page.
