If there is one thing that is universal all over the world, it's that frustrating realization every morning when you just can't seem to find the keys.

You search left, right and center, only to realize that the keys are lying in the laundry room or on top of the refrigerator.

Technology has never ceased to make our lives easier, and Hone Keychain for iOS is one such app that will make it lot easier for us to look for our keys.

Geoff Litwack and Louis Gerbag are the developers behind Hone for iPad 3 and iPhone 4S.

What was the inspiration behind this app?

"My partner is an absent-minded professor type, and he spent 10 minutes looking for his keys every single time he was ready to leave his house," says Geoff Litwack, "He's an engineer, so we decided to solve the problem with technology."

The app locates the keychain using Bluetooth. As soon as the keychain is detected by your phone, the keychain starts to vibrate, beep and also lights up.

Your iPhone or iPad can locate the keys as long as they are within 150 feet proximity.

"If you don't hear or see it immedately, walk around with the app open.  Hone has a built-in proximity sensor so you'll know when you're getting closer or farther away." explains Geoffrey Litwack on Kickstarter page.

Until a while ago, the project was on Kickstarter looking for funds, and they've quite successfully managed to reach their goal (185%). They are currently in the process of manufacturing enough supply and will soon be introducing the product in the market. If you are interested in the latest developments, then you can sign up for their newsletter and be notified as soon as the Hone is launched.
