But before that, let's learn more about Australia based Caz and Craig and their blog with some of the couple's great pictures traveling around the World:
Tell us about your wonderful blog 'Y Travel'. What is it all about?
Y Travel blog is about inspiring people to travel and giving them the information they need to do it. We believe life is all about the memories and travel is a great way to create so many amazing memories.
What inspired you to start blogging? We would love to know about its inception.
We had been living and traveling around the world since 1997 and we felt we had so much information and stories to share. We felt we weren’t doing anything with that knowledge and so started to look for ways we could. A blog made perfect sense to us. We saw it as a way for us to share and build a travel community, which is something we have always loved being a part of.
With what mission did you start your blog? Did you ever think it would be admired by so many people some day?
Our mission has always been to inspire people to live their dream life and to travel and give them the tools they need to do so. We never thought we could have had so much success so quickly, but was something we always dreamed about.
You've been to so many countries and even lived in few of them. I know it's hard to pick but living in which country has been the most exciting?
I think Bangkok, Thailand was the most exotic and exciting place to live. Bangkok is a city that never sleeps; we always had something new to experience. It is so cheap and the lifestyle so relaxing and enjoyable. It also gave us plenty of opportunity to travel around Thailand, which is our favourite country.
How has been your experience with blogging? How has it changed your life personally as well as professionally?
It has changed so much about our life and opened many new doors. Just like weekend, Caz spoke on a panel about blogging and we both will be at a Problogger training event this month. We never would have imagined blogging leading to opportunities like this.
It is also allowing us the freedom to live our true dream which is a lifestyle of travel with each other and our children. Some of our travel experiences since we started blogging have been amazing, and we love to be able to share it with others.
Give us a few tips for running a Travel blog successfully.
Provide valuable content for your readers. It all starts with that. Guest posting is a fantastic way to spread your message and build your authority.
Build a community around what you do, Facebook is best for this.
Spend time networking with others both on and offline.
What has been the breakthrough point for your blog?
I think returning home to Australia has been a big turning point for our blog. Travel blogging is relatively new here and the niche is not very competitive. Australian companies are open to working with bloggers and there are some amazing opportunities happening. We’ve been very fortunate to be a part of them, which means we can offer more value to our readers in terms of travel experiences and information.
Share your fondest memory with 'Y Travel'.
I think it would have to be Craig’s recent experience on the Great Crusade as one of the official Qantas Correspondents. He was invited to travel on a two week campervan tour with a 50 other mad rugby fans as they followed the Wallabies around New Zealand. Apart from the rugby he also got to sky dive, white water raft, tour wineries on bicycles, go sailing, kayaking and so much more.
What is that one advice you'd like to give to aspiring bloggers?
Find your voice. What makes you so unique? This is your strength and you must play to it in everything you do.
The trick is to love what you do and let that passion and enthusiasm shine through. Blogging is not easy, but it is very rewarding. Be prepared for challenges and accept it is all part of the experience. Make sure you never give up. If you don’t give up, you can’t fail.
And a final word for our readers?
Make your life a story to tell. Go out and create many beautiful memories and then share what you have learned and experienced with others. Life is so much better when you share it.
Caz and Craig, thank you for sharing so much about you and your blog with us. You guys are doing a wonderful job and we wish you all the very best for your journey ahead!
