Italian Artist, Jens Praet gives a new shape and design to the huge amount of paper wasted everyday. He creates splendid furniture out of leftover documents and old magazines. He has produced consoles, tables, benches and shelves using these sustainable materials. Thus, making a significant contribution to the environment.

The furniture is made by mixing the shredded papers with resin and is compressed into a strong mould. Aluminum is also mixed to give a structural stability to the furniture.  Then it is left to harden, resulting into the wood-strength furniture.

Jens, who has studied industrial designs, has been making such masterpieces since 2007 for Droog, a conceptual design company. 'Jens has a strong passion for everyday objects, honest materials, finding inspiration in unexpected details and daily issues which often become the starting point in developing a new concept', his website describes.

His designs are influenced by the Global concerns like Sustainability and Green Revolution. Let's take a look:

It is amazing to see what can be done with paper these days. It might be unthinkable for some but this goes to show that many things can be created with paper. It all takes creativity and a goal to come up with something admirable like shredded paper furniture.
