These highly intricate sculptures are created out of chicken wires, with each and every wire so carefully molded that even the hair of the person in the portrait looks perfect.

Ivan Lovatt is one of those artists who likes to experiment with the medium they use to present their art to the world, and he found it in chicken wires. It takes a whole lot of twisting and pinning of wires for more than a month to create portraits that are incredibly detailed.

Ivan spent his childhood in Africa, England, Wales and Germany and developed a special interest in birds and African wildlife, and that is where his journey to becoming an artist started.

"Ivan's versatility and adaptability are clearly demonstrated by his return to using chicken wire, a medium that lends itself to the sensitivity and delicacy of his expression." describes his website.

Ivan got into the construction business, and created art in his spare time where he experimented with various mediums for his art. With time, his art developed and he moved from birds and wildlife to creating chicken wire sculptures of celebrities.

Its been six years since Ivan has been a professional sculpture and he has received appreciation from galleries, museums and art lovers all over the globe. His website shares that "Ivan's personality is represented in his sculpture. His work is honest, often quirky and amusing, yet demonstrates compassion for his subject, and above all great integrity." Here are some examples of Ivan's fascinating chicken sculptures:
