We always appreciated artists who draw their inspiration from junk material and recycle them into fascinating and at times useful products.

Scruggs from Etsy is one of such artists who creates products out of stash of bottle caps and tin cans.

She makes all kinds of stuff like toys, airplanes, scultptures, decorative pieces and whistles. Whistles are one of her signature products that are inspired by a book by Bobby Hansson called "The Fine Art of the Tin Can".

"I'm a metal girl, I have a large stash of bottle caps and tins cans organized in my little shop. I spend all spare moments there starting and finishing every piece." says Loren

Loren has received a degree in sculpture, has also studied Classical Five Element Acupuncture and considers art/toy making as meditation and advices everyone to "Make what you love and renew!".

Loren lives in Seattle and has been practicing acupuncture from seven years, she enjoys making whimsical toys and many other colorful creations from objects that she finds in local restaurants or collects them from friends and neighbors.

"I’m interested in joy.  Color is joyous for me so I use painted tin cans for their color and glint.  A lot of my work reference childhood and play, for myself play is a time of being in the moment, no past or future worries, a time of joy.  I hope that my work puts an amused smile on peoples faces, for when we smile we are in the moment, engaged, attentive and happy." shares Loren.
