Tekin Tatar is the founder of Befunky, who has worked with corporate firms as business development expert before launching his own business. Mehmet Ozkanoglu, Befunky's creative director, teamed up with Tekin and started drawing people's cartoons manually and sold them through a website. After receiving positive feedbacks on their business idea, they introduced Tolga Birdal (Co-founder and Chief Engineer) into the team, who helped them in developing a powerful software.

They have leveraged social media by allowing its users to not only share their photographs in sites like MySpace, Twitter or Facebook, but also lets them import pictures from these sites. One can create an Befunky Photo Library online by simply storing images on their site. Apart from adding effects on images, it has an additional feature that allows its users to 'print and create a product', such as, posters, t-shirts, mugs and key chains.
