Setting Flat Shipping by Product

Some of our merchants have products that can all ship for the same amount, maybe you are selling CDs and/or DVDs or maybe clothing. Our shipping does allow you to setup a flat rate so the buyer gets charged for each item they are purchasing. For this example we are going to charge a flat $2.50 for each item.

Starting from the Admin page you will click on the Edit E-junkie Cart Shipping Settings link on the right side of the page. Then click Next on the page that loads, because you will not need the first page in the Shipping Settings.

Once the Shipping Rules page loads, set the Shipping Rate Calculator drop down menu to Price Per Unit.

Set the Shipping Amount per Unit to 2.50 and click the Submit button. That is it.

If you have a few different types of product that will have their own rate then you will want to set this up a bit differently. What you will need to do is setup your product yo use specific packages and then use the option to Define Packaging to set your rates per product.

First set your products so they have a specific packaging option, in this case we are going to setup the product with the Packaging Type as Box Regular and a Capacity of 1. To do this go to View/Edit/Delete Products, select the product and click Edit. Once the page comes up, click Next.

After that you will want to setup the shipping on the first page of the shipping settings so the different packages have a set price, in this case $1.50, $2.50 and $4.00.
