The speculations of which began at the end of 2012 is finally going to see the dawn of its launch day, if the rumors are to be believed.

For almost a year Apple has kept mum about its iWatch and while the endless rumors like Apple working with Intel on a wrist-worn gadget with a 1.5inch screen or that the iWatch would be Siri-controlled or that a team of 100 Apple product designers are working on the watch and more surfaced, Apple somehow managed to keep its cool and kept on working on the iWatch, if the gadget does exists.

Well, the latest rumor surrounding the Apple's yet to be announced iWatch pertains to its charging options.

Battery life is one of the biggest concern when it comes to buying any gadget, be it a smartphone or a smartwatch and after what happened to Samsung Galaxy Gear, Apple got a bit cautious. The good news is that a new report suggests that battery life is on top of Apple's wishlist in terms of the iWatch.

According to the New York Times Apple is looking for newer and innovative options to charge its iWatch and these options include induction, solar and motion charging which means no wires, no power sockets and less power consumption.

Talking about the charging options, magnetic induction is something that we have already seen. In this the device is placed on a charging plate and the electric current created a magnetic field that charges up the device. Solar charging is also something that we have not only seen but even used. Casio's G-Shock range of watches receive thermal and electrical energy and use it to recharge the watch batteries through the solar panels placed on the face of the watch. Something that we already know considering Apple's last year's patent application, we are pretty certain that the iWatch will have a curved screen and solar panel layer to it which would charge it during the day.

Now motion charging is something that we are waiting for. Imagine charging your phone with every movement sounds interesting, right? Apple filled a patent for this type of technology in 2009.

Another rumor that surfaced a week ago is that for its iPhone 6 Apple is working on a fitness app called Healthbook which would collect data from the motion sensors and tell you how fit you are and things like you need to do, like exercise, to stay fit. You can expect to find this app on the iWatch as well.

So what we know about the iWatch is that -
  • It might have a curved screen,
  • Would charge wirelessly; induction, solar and motion charging options
  • Would focus on health and fitness
Sounds like hell of a gadget!!

Would it look something like how Todd Hamilton imagined it? Checkout the video below:
