Imagine these two scenarios -
a) You are walking down the street and all of a sudden it starts raining and by the time you find a shade you are already drenched and so are your belongings in your pocket. Worst part your phone is not working. Sad, right?
b) You and a bunch of your friends are drawing murals on the sidewalk and it starts to rain. Your masterpiece in making all gone in the rain.
In both the above situations I bet you wished if you had checked the weather forecast before stepping out of the house.
Anyways, such situations demand a solution so what do you do, carry a small plastic bag with you so that you can keep your phone safe from the rain and check the weather forecast before deciding to draw murals on the street? But what if I tell you that you need not carry a plastic bag to keep your phone safe and yes, you can make art during the rain. Meet NeverWet!
NeverWet is a silicon-based spray that repels liquid. This clearly means that if you spray NeverWet on any of your electronic gadgets like phone and camera you can use it outside while its raining. Sounds interesting, right?
But more interesting is the fact that NeverWet can also be used to create art. Nathan Sharratt came up with the idea of using this spray to create rain art. He recently submitted a video to the Home Depot Company contest that featured him making rain art using the NeverWet.
Sharratt use stencils to create rain-text art that is only visible during rain or when some one pours water on it. As of now he has created two rain-text artwork:
Well, this is obviously one very unique and creative use of NeverWet. Imagine the artistic possibilities with this spray if its used to create other art styles like murals, we'll get to see amazing artworks during the rains.

That is so cool. Does it only work on concrete or would it also work on like interlocking stone? Ottawa has some sidewalk art events and that would be fantastic!
Any surface that darkens when it gets wet would work.
Also: Thanks for the post, but I don't work for Home Depot, I entered the video into a Home Depot contest. And not sure who Dana0814 is, but this project was just me. Thanks!
