Always remember, that for a particular service or product there are many options and since the competition is fierce, different companies have different schemes or add-ons to lure the customers.

There are some companies that keep track of every visitor who visits their site. In fact, they even monitor which of their visitors added the product to their online shopping cart but haven't/didn't checked out yet.

Now the question - Why?

These companies use that database and contact those visitors offering them discounts and special offers. So the deal here is, unless it's urgent add the product you want to purchase to your online shopping cart and wait for a day or two before you check out. The retailer might have a nice offer for you!

2. There are more retailers

Imagine you just purchased a nice bag for yourself from an online store and the same day you notice that some other website is offering a lucrative discount on the same bag that you just purchased. You just realize, you made a mistake. Sad!

As we have already mentioned that for a particular service or product there are many options, so before you make a purchase online always remember to checkout more online stores for the same product or service. You might end up getting a better deal on it!

3. Wait for discount codes

This is one of the best tip to save money while shopping online and trust me it always works. Many retailers offer discount codes from time to time to their customers (to keep their existing customers and attract new ones) and if you use these codes you can save a lot. These codes are easily available on those subscription mails you receive from your retailers and also on their website or social media networks.

4. Become a loyal customer

A year back, I had this habit of hopping different websites to buy things. Buy this from that, that from this; I was not loyal to a single retailer. But one day, when I got irritated from all the subscription mails that I was receiving piling in my inbox, I started unsubscribing. It was then that I noticed that based on some of my past purchases this one website was offering me a special discount. I know that was a trick that I fell for but trust me after that purchase I realized that if you become loyal to a retailer, he'll do everything to keep you like that forever.

There are some online store that offer deals like free shipping after the fourth or fifth purchase or discounts or  freebies. This might be the oldest trick in the book for the retailer to attract customers but for the customer it is an easy way to save money.
