We generally have a tendency of throwing all scrap metal away, it's nothing but trash taking up extra space for us but for Vik Muniz trash is all art!
Vik is a talented Brazilian artist who uses everything from discarded automobile parts to all metallic trash to create huge collages, which he then photographs and shares the digital prints on his website.Viz is the same artist who's work-in-process was shown in the an Academy Award nominated documentary Wasteland. He currently lives and works in New York.
You can see Vik's scrap metal art on display as digital prints at the Armory Show in New York through the Rena Bransten Gallery which would be starting on 7th March, 2013.

Beautiful! My husband has been visiting a yard that sells scrap metals in Calgary recently and he really wants to make art out of his finds. I wish he were this talented because I would love to own all of these pieces! Thanks for sharing. http://www.federalmetals.ca/about_us/about_us
We love your enthusiasm Holly. Art is as much as about passion than mere talent. We hope your husband also succeeds in bringing out his creative side. Best of luck !
