Posted: 2/28/2013
The TED conference at Long Beach is going aces.

Sticking true to their motto of "Ideas worth spreading", the TED organizers are doing the needful to acknowledge the creative advertisers this year.

What more can brands anticipate than such a huge public platform that honors their creativity. TED has for the past three years brought out their list of Ads Worth Spreading honors.

Ronda Carnegie, the Head of Global Partnerships at TED explains the birth of this endeavor. She said "The best ads are excellent content--driven by ideas. Culturally relevant content with strong storytelling has the power to spark change, raise awareness, and communicate new ways of thinking".

What makes an advertising campaign good, mediocre and successful lies in this fact. Drawing a natural connectivity to the audience, irrespective of their backgrounds and station in life, is the real key. TED's shortlisted ads hark on varied emotions that made their brands appear so much more humane.

The common themes ranged between comedy to social responsibility. TED categorically judges the entries under 6 categories: Talk, Social Good, Cultural Compass, Creative Wonder, Brand Bravery, Education.

To adjudicate the entries at a "humanistic level", an elite panel of 25 renowned industry veterans including the famous brand-master Jim Stengel, David Droga, John O'Keeefe, Laura Desmond, Laurie Coots and so on were tasked to nominate the righful winners across the categories this year.

The winners who make the cut to this prestigious list "echo TED's inspirational point of view" says Ari Kuschnir, CEO of missing pieces. It sure is a force motivator for all advertising, marketing and branding corporations to strive for quality content. In addition, the firms are becoming socially conscious which makes business more humane. The content, in turn generated also has a contextual meaning that appeals to one and all.
