In case if you're a developer, then there's a good news for you. The long wait is over, you're soon going to be holding the Project Glass in your hands. Yay! But the catch is that only those who have got an email invite from Google get to do so.

When last year, Google's co-founder Sergey Brin demonstrated the Project Glass during the Google I/O conference at the Moscone Center, San Francisco and provided more insight into the glasses through a live demo, everyone was left awestruck.

Earlier this week, Google announced that it would be holding a "Glass Foundry" in New York and San Francisco in the coming weeks. Two days totally focused on Google's Project Glass.

According to the email invite that Google sent out to those who signed up to be on its developer list, "Join us for an early look at Glass and two full days of hacking on the upcoming Google Mirror API in San Francisco or New York. These hackathons are just for developers in the Explorer program and we’re calling them the Glass Foundry. It’s the first opportunity for a group of developers to get together and develop for Glass." And if you're one of those lucky developers who received this email, then you're going to get "a device to use while on-site".

If you are curious about what all would be happening at the Glass Foundry, then here's the schedule of the two days:
  • Day 1 - Introduction to the Glass.
  • Day 2 - Exploring the Mirror API, which "gives you the ability to exchange data and interact with the user over REST." At the end of Day 2, the developers would get a chance to demonstrate their work which would be judged by some "special guest judges".
Glass Foundry will be held in San Francisco from January 28 to 29 and in New York from February 1 to 2. The developers who have got the email invite and who want to attend the event have to register by 4 pm PT tomorrow. The seats are limited so you have to book your slot quick.

Well, for those developer who ordered the "Explorer Editions" of the glasses, you are expected to receive the device somewhere this year, but only Google knows when.

Do let us know what do you think about this event and in case, you're one of those lucky developers who have got the email invite, do let us know in the comment section below.
