One of the most important aspects of any brand is it's logo, having a eye catchy logo helps a brand in increasing it's recall value. Any brand manager has an option of using an advertising agency to create the logo or outsource it to a designer/artist. Given the wide reach of the internet, our featured website today, StockLogos has as it's name suggests created a community of designers which can be approached to outsource logo designs.

StockLogos is the world's largest identity design community offering creative, high quality and affordable logos for download. If you are looking for a logo, you can either select one from among the pre-made 30,000 logos available in the store (which will be customized as per your requirements) or you can get it designed through a contest.

One of the coolest features on StockLogos is the regular contests that are hosted there. You as a buyer can post a contest on StockLogos, if you are searching for a unique logo. Descibe your company, your target audience, what are your needs and once you close the contest, you can choose the logo that fits your needs, from among the entries. You can even give feedback for the entries you receive. Searching for a logo design(er) was never so easy before, just write in the keywords describing your brand/company and get thousands of options to choose from. You can even get the logo customized according to your needs.

StockLogos also makes it easy to sell your redundant design, which could include well designed logos not accepted by a previous client. StockLogos helps you reach worldwide customers and clients. Furthermore, it also helps you to promote, market and sell it hassle-free manner. Read on to know more about StockLogos, in our exclusive interview with Ivan Raszl:

1. Hi Ivan, please introduce yourself to our readers. Are you a designer as well?

I started as a packaging designer, then worked as an art director, creative director and then i established my own ad agency.

2. What is StockLogos all about and what inspired you to come up with it?

When me and my team worked on identity design projects we always presented several options for clients and only one of them were chosen. Most of the time there were several options that were really good idea and I hated to put them on the shelf. We always hoped one day we will find a client with a business that requires just those ideas. But since we worked with a limited number of clients the chances of that happening was really low. I noticed all designers and studios have the same "problem". And then I realized that if we we would all upload these ideas to a central place where clients from all around the world could browse and find these ideas we would increase the chances of a lucky match, which would be a start for a new designer and client relationship. This was the inspiration for StockLogos.com, which is basically an alternative way for clients to find a logo and a designer to work with. Later we also introduced contests, so those clients who could not find a ready made logo in our library could post their briefs and the designers could upload their existing or new ideas that match the brief.

3. Apart from providing designers and companies a platform to sell and buy logos, what other interesting services does StockLogos offer?

I think the buying and selling is just the tip of iceberg. The way I look at it, the most important service we provide is a match-making service between designers and clients through the logo store and the contests. We help start fruitful long term business relationships.

4. Does StockLogos judge the contests or is it the sole discretion of the contest poster(s)? On an average how many entries do you receive for each of the contests? If you do, do you have a panel of specialists?

The winners of contests are chosen by the contest holder. We do delete any logos that are un-original in any way because we believe every company needs to have a unique identity. We use software to check for originality and we also have a very active community who checks manually too. There are so many eyes looking out for originality that clients can have higher confidence of getting original work on StockLogos than if they went to a design studio. We all remember the famous cases of the new Quark logo that looked like another existing brand and several other stories like that. It's very unlikely this would happen at StockLogos.

5. How do you promote the site? Your words of wisdom on promotion via social media channels vs word-of-mouth promotion.

We do not advertise on Google or Facebook. We rely on word of mouth and we promote it on our sister sites that promote creative work like BrandsoftheWorld.com and AdsoftheWorld.com. Many of our clients are returning or referred by other satisfied clients.

6. What measures do you have in place to ensure that designs/design ideas are not plagiarized?

I talked about this above. We take this very seriously. We want to make sure StockLogos is known for being original and trustworthy.

7. What leisure activities do you like to dabble in when you are not working? What do you find most relaxing?

I have 2 small kids and I love playing with them and teaching them about the world. More specifically about nature and science. We go to forests and nature reserves and stop often to look at things closely. We travel a lot. I've stayed for longer periods of time in 6 countries in the last 6 years including Bahrain, Hungary, Australia, Singapore, Bali and now Canada. These activities are not relaxing, but they switch me off from the web which is all I need.

8. What other designers/entrepreneurs do you look up to personally? If you could spend some time with one of them who would it be and why?

There are too many.

Darius from Colourlovers.com is doing a great job. I would not mind working with him on a project.

I would also love to spend time with Jonathan Ive and Apple's product design team.

The guys working at Google Adwords/Adsense are a really interesting guys. I was invited to the SF HQ and I can't wait to see how they work.

I regularly visit the offices of WebMediaBrands in NYC where many of my friends work on different media related websites and projects. It's always and energizing experience.

9. What are your future plans for StockLogos? Any planned enhancements in the pipeline? What has been the biggest compliment that you have received since you launched Stock Logos?

Our plans are simple. We want to be known by more startups and thus sell more logos and put more designers in touch with these small businesses. The biggest compliments came from our satisfied customers. All the hard work and struggle pays off when we receive emails or phone calls from the cake factory owner, the pizza shop owner, the nail salon owner, etc. thanking us for our efficiency, creativity and affordability.

10. What advice would you like to give to aspiring and budding designers?

My most important professional advice I can give is to consciously live an interesting life. Consider this as a requirement for your job. Travel to unusual places, meet new people, read or watch stuff you would normally never touch, break your routine in every way, immerse yourself deeply into various subjects of interest, try new arts or sports, etc. The more experiences you feed into your brain the easier it is going to be to crack any design brief. Coming up with ideas will be effortless and you can focus your energies on organizing your work and executing it all with great care.

Ivan is dishonest and does not honor his agreements such that he will waste full year of a designer's work. The communication at Stocklogo is the worst I've ever experienced. Be wary.

I don't know who you're as you're probably not using the same name you used on StockLogos, so I can't give you a specific answer. If you give me your stocklogos username I can give you a specific answer and clarify your accusation.

We do ban designers quite frequently who don't follow our strict rules. If you submit unoriginal work you're guaranteed to lose your account sooner or later as we want to protect the the client's, designer's and site's interests.

If this was the case with you it's you who didn't honour the agreement, not us.

As far as I know we never ever broke our agreement with any designer. Our reputation is very important to us.
