Where you live at the moment, you've probably noticed that job security is not what it used to be. That's why so many people are looking to start an on-line business, maybe not to leave their job straight away but to create a safety net a few years down the line to fall back on as an income. From my experience with coaching website owners, they are the ones that are going to win as they are realistic about their goals. It's better for your on-line business foundations to be built over 5 years than build it quickly and crash over night (Search Engine Rules Change Etc).

The one thing that will put you in the top 1 percent of website owners will be if you share your journey. It's a mistake that I made back in 2008 as I was trying to get everything perfect before launch but its no use!, plus if you share what you have learnt it's stuff that other people are probably searching for making it excellent blog content for search engines.

Top 5 Tips For Sharing Your Journey:

1. Write a blog post showing your 5 year business goal. If you do this you show readers that it's not just a hobby and that you are here for long term success.

2. Share your coaching story as part of your journey. This makes readers understand that you didn't figure everything out on your own and also by mentioning top business coaches that you invested in will increase your credibility and success by association.

3. Break down a solution that you figured out from an obstacle you have encountered with your site. I usually write it as an article or blog post but you could go the extra mile and also produce it as a podcast or a video for YouTube.

4. Celebrate a success with our readers. This maybe your 100th subscriber or even your first sale!. By writing a post and being transparent, it will make the readers you currently have more keen to hear from you.

5. Share changes, if like me you had built an on-line business that relys on advert revenue but realise that the money is not enough to sustain the business share with your readers how you are going to make money in the future and it could open more doors for consulting and other streams of revenue.

Are you already sharing your journey? Looking forward to your comments...
