Basically, you paint the dye on to any surface, expose it to the sunlight (for about 8 minutes on a sunny day) and see those colors appear in matter of minutes. Inkodye is a kit that comes with 3 colors, and can be mixed to create different shades of colors. Check out this demo video below:
Personally, I think it is a fun concept through which you can give a life to a lot of DIY project ideas. I am already thinking about those old t-shirts that I refuse to throw away...it's time to show them some sunlight. Have a look at some example projects featured on Lumi's website:
