Chris Gilmour is a UK born Udine, Italy based artist. He creates replicas of common items from recycled cardboard and glue. They are detailed and appear so realistic that it is hard to believe that the material used is 'just' cardboard. From such a simple item, he manages to create life-sized fantastic sculptures of item ranging from a typewriter to a bicycle and a guitar to a wheelchair.
The most awesome creation I found in his portfolio is 'The Triumph of Good and Evil' (to your left). It looks beautiful and I never thought the cardboard can can be put to such an amazing use.

"Since this is both a visual and conceptual work I choose objects for their visual appeal and cultural resonance, but I also usually choose objects which imply an action or interaction of some sort. The interaction of the viewer with the works seems to function as a kind of short circuit between an implied action and the impossibility of performing it: you want to open the car door, or turn the wheel on the bike, but of course you can’t. I think this immediacy is important to enter the work, to grab the viewer. "
