It wasn't long ago that I felt stuck in a career I didn’t like.

On the outside I was a financial salesperson, but on the inside I was a frustrated writer dying to express my creativity.

Then, I had a flash of inspiration.

Why not start a blog about a topic I’m passionate about?

I’d heard about bloggers making a living by marketing their expertise. Plus, I enjoyed writing, which made blogging even more appealing. A vision for a business based on my expertise started to take shape.

I decided to write about my life-long study of how honing your intuition and changing your thinking could increase your success in life by guiding you to make the right choices when taking risks. I chose a name, Powered by Intuition, set up a blog and dove in with a passion.

I wrote two articles a week, which helped make me visible on search engines. In a matter of a few months I’d attracted readers from all over the world.

Next, I set up email marketing and put out a free ebook to give away when they subscribed. The free ebook started attracting new subscribers by the hundreds.

Powered by Intuition has been growing at a fast clip ever since and my income from coaching and mentoring has also been growing steadily ever since. Plus, I get great satisfaction from knowing that the information I share teaches people to use their intuition to get answers to real life problems in order to change their lives for the better.

Here’s why I’m such a big fan of blogging for business instead of begging for business:

1. Blogging is an affordable way to test the market for your product or service. If you want to start simple with a Blogger or WordPress.org blog the set up will cost you nothing.

2. It’s easy to set up a blog. Most blogs are aimed at non-techies and are simply “plug and play.” You go the blog site of your choice, pick out a template you like, click on few buttons and you’re blog is ready to go.

3. Writing is fun when you write about something you have a keen interest in. It’s exciting to watch the growth of your blog. Each article will attract new readers which will keep your enthusiasm high for writing consistently.

4. The more you blog the more your audience will grow. Establish a consistent publishing schedule and the search engines will love your blog. The more you’re found by search engines the more you’ll be found by new readers too.

5. Your blog will attract “regulars” who will be your biggest fans and help spread the word about you. If you engage with them and always respond genuinely to their comments these regulars will become your first loyal customers too.

6. The more you comment around the Web the more you’ll attract new readers who may eventually become your customers. When someone comments on your blog do go to their site and leave a thoughtful comment. Their readers will see your comment and follow it back to your blog.

7. You can offer a free product to your readers as a thank you for subscribing and your subscriber list will grow quickly. Email marketing with a newsletter to your readers is a great way to reach customers. Grow your list by giving something of value away for free.

8. Online affiliate marketing is one of the best ways to grow your business. Bloggers have the same goals – grow their readership and grow their income along with it. Make friends with bloggers in complementary businesses and they’ll become your best allies. You’ll help each other grow by becoming affiliates for one another’s products.

9. It’s easy and affordable to create online products to sell. Once you’ve established yourself as a credible expert you can package your knowledge and create an ebook that readers can download. You can follow that with an eCourse, an audio course, a video course, a workbook, coaching, mentoring and eventually a paid membership site.

10. Finding technical help is easy on the Internet. Once you’ve established a relationship with a few bloggers just ask them who they use and recommend for certain projects. They may even offer to help you themselves. Don’t let fears of not having enough technical expertise hold you back from blogging for business.

I’m looking forward to saying, “Goodbye 9 to 5 job and hello entrepreneurship,” which is why I rave about the benefits of blogging for business to anyone interested in starting their own business. It’s proven to me that I won’t have to be stuck in my current career forever.

If you have valuable knowledge to share and a desire to be an entrepreneur, then blogging for business is definitely the way to go. It’s the best way to build a following and customer base for your expertise with minimal upfront investment that I know of.

Go on give it a try – the only thing you have to lose is working for someone else!

FYI: She could rake in an easy 1 million dollars by convincing James Randi of her supernatural abilities. Here's the info: http://www.randi.org/site/index.php/1m-challenge.html
Do I get a commission if she gets the money?
