Last Friday, Google Play product manager Ibrahim Elbouchikhi shared this news on the Android Developers Blog informing the world that the Google Play customers will be able to make payments using their PayPal account. This option is available in 12 countries, including the US, Canada and Germany.
You can find this payment option within Google Wallet, just enter your PayPal account log-in details and you'll be easily able to make purchases in Google Play. "Our goal is to provide users with a frictionless payment experience, and this new integration is another example of how we work with partners from across the payments industry to deliver this to the user."
Countries like Austria, Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands and Spain will also get PayPal support in Google Play.
You can not use this payment option to by devices and accessories but only apps and digital content.
Besides from adding PayPal, Google has also increased the number of territories that can use carrier billing. "Carrier billing—which lets people charge purchases in Google Play directly to their phone bill—continues to be a popular way to pay. We've just expanded coverage to seven more countries for a total of 24, including Singapore, Thailand and Taiwan. That means almost half of all Google Play users have this option when making their purchases."
