We at E-junkie have discussed all the aspects of the social media-sphere. What to do, what not to do, using it for your best interest, driving traffic and much more but there is something we missed out until I recently noticed it and that is the - 'time'. And when I say 'time' I'm not talking about investing your time in doing your social media work but at what time should you be posting on Facebook, tweeting, pining or sharing on Google+, working on your everyday social media time table. Well, most social media managers and businesses find it challenging.Your audience is not every time available online to view your updates and posts and when they actually do come online, your updates get buried in the pile of updates in their news feed. Therefore, the reach of your updates or posts in less and that really affects your stats. So what would you do? Post at random times and check the number of views?
Here are some helpful tips that'll help you determine the best time to post across your social media networks:
1. Use Social Media Tools
There are n-number of social media tools that'll help you reach your audience when at the right time like SocialBro (Twitter), Sproutsocial, HootSuite, Timing+ (Google+), etc.
If you ask me one my favorite social media tool, I would say HootSuite's AutoScheduling functionality. It helps me schedule my updates and posts at the best times so that I can reach my audience when they are online.
2. Use link shortner
I guess many of you are already using link shortners like bit.ly. If you go through the stats section on your dashboard, you'll notice (or you already know) that it allows you to track the number of clicks that the link you have shared has got. You can also keep a track of the exact time when you shared a message across your different social media networks to determine how much interactions each message has received. This would not only help you determine the best time to post but the geographical location of your most engaged audience. Once you know this you can start posting or scheduling accordingly.
3. See how others do their work
I bet you follow many social media experts and are also a part of many groups and communities on various social media networks. Well, I guess you already know that you can learn a lot from them but trust me they also have the answer to our question here. Keep a track of the time at which they post or share things on their page, see the number or likes, pins, retweets or share. This would help you in making your daily social media timetable for updates across your various social media networks.
Well, the above three are the most basic things that you can do to determine the best time to post across your various social media networks. In case, you're trying something else to find out the best time to reach your audience then do share that with us in the comment section below.
