You Use Less Gas & Make Fewer Stops
Hybrids use less gas, meaning your commute consists of fewer stops and delays. Rather than scheduling a 15-minute gas stop (with needless donuts and bad coffee) into your morning commute, you can hit snooze one more time.
In some cases, green technology has entirely removed gasoline. Some cars today are using bio fuels generated from microbes, and other vehicles are 100% electric. What's certain is that the average commute is becoming progressively less gas-station dependent today.
Cleaner Air Equals Clearer Skin for You

Because people are burning less gas, there's less smog and harmful pollution being breathed by all of us. This means people are feeling healthier, less stressed, and are experiencing clearer skin.
If you don't particularly care about the environment, then consider this: less pollution also means lower pollution taxes and fines for your local and state government. This translates into lower taxes for you, too.Slower Acceleration Makes Your Bank Account Happy

Many hybrids accelerate slower than full-throttle monster vehicles. While this may seem like a downer to people who like to race across intersections, it's actually great for the environment (and your wallet).
Accelerating slowly burns less fuel overall, saving you a load of money. Also, slower acceleration reduces pollution and distributes it more evenly. Both of these things add up to make a more peaceful commute, especially in smog-loaded cities like Los Angeles."Hybrid Parking Only" Equals VIP Parking for You

Many places are now offering up-front parking for hybrids as a small "thank you" to environmentally conscious drivers. This means quicker shopping stops for those who choose green transportation modes.
Businesses and institutions offering hybrid parking include malls, military installations, and hospitals. Also, being a hybrid owner can save you money on auto insurance (check your auto insurance quotes page for more information); not to mention, hybrid ownership can get you a tax deduction of $1,000 or more.Public Transportation Options Are Doubly Green

In China and the United States the High Speed Rail (HSR) has seen a resurgence in popularity due to its use of green power. Many commuters love this option -- it makes them feel good about using public transportation, and doubly good about using green transportation.
However, the HSR is only as green as a hybrid (rather than using gasoline the HSR requires electricity, which is fueled with fossil fuels). And while it's a greener option than driving your own vehicle (even a hybrid vehicle), it's not as green as scientists expect it will become in the near future. So looking at your commute for evidence -- green technology is increasingly impacting all of our lives, and it's revolutionizing our footprint on the Earth and improving quality of life the world over.
How do you think it will affect you? Have you noticed any differences in your own life?

I commute every day by bike because I love clean air too!
That's great! Its environmentally friendly and a good way to keep in shape.
Aside from using bike, we also using solar at our house to contribute a little help to the environment. We installed Solar Swimming Pool Heaters, as well as solar lights.
Hi Erwin,
Glad to hear that!
