There are a lot of people who are crazy about Apple products and there are those who refuse to jump on the bandwagon and would like to stick to their BlackBerry phones. It does not matter to them that RIM’s market share is in decline nor the bad press and their dipping stock prices. Despite some who say that they are ashamed to whip out their BlackBerries during functions, there are still those who are loyal to their BlackBerries.

A vast majority of these loyalists are business users. Here are some reasons why they are sticking to them.

Ease of use

It is a smartphone but one of the BlackBerry’s greatest advantages is its user-friendliness. Its users can easily find their browser, e-mail, call options like call forwarding, and messaging applications. With fewer functions that are on the high end, the BlackBerry really is easier to use.

Keyboard response

There are some people who have problems with touchscreen keyboards due to their less than ideal response. Factors like finger size and speed are taken into account but with a BlackBerry, typing can be done faster with fewer errors.

Fast e-mail access

The people who use a BlackBerry to access their e-mail swear by it for its speed. They do not have to do any other setup to make it work because the e-mails just automatically get pushed into the inbox. In fact, some users have noted that e-mail arrives sooner on a BlackBerry than on an Android or Iphone devices.

Superior security

BlackBerry phones require you to come up with a complex password, a feature that most IT departments in companies make use of.  It makes sure that your data and company data is safe. Other phones may offer some sort of identity authentication but they can be easily bypassed. A lot of organizations prefer the BlackBerry because of its increased security.

Better privacy

Some users are not keen on Google’s privacy policies, while others are wary of the iPhone’s Siri feature. Some companies even ban iPhones from entering their premises because they are afraid that it will lead to leaks of information. Siri does record and send the data it receives to Apple offices so that may definitely be an issue. Those who have their needs met by a BlackBerry device find that they have no need for additional applications or services.

What was once RIM’s ace up their sleeve is still widely used by individuals in the corporate world. Though there are other applications on other devices, BlackBerry Messenger still has a place in businesses everywhere. It is easy to use and when most of your colleagues are using a BlackBerry device, you all save money on communication while ensuring the messages are sent and read thanks to a feature of BBM that puts stamps like S for sent, and R for read.

With so many other options available on the market, one big reason for the loyalty of BlackBerry users may be simple: they trust what is familiar and they work best with what they know.
