We've already come across quite a few innovative ideas and designs for charging devices; Everpurse being a recent example. It's quite a nifty little purse that wirelessly charges your phone by simply placing it in the purse pocket. After Everpurse, we realized that it will take one hell of an innovation to impress us again. So, here we are featuring another incredible concept and design that uses solar energy for charging your device.

Electree, by French designer Vivien Muller is an eye-catching design of a bonsai that uses solar power to charge your device. Electree's 27 solar panels (the branches) charges its 13,500mAH battery and needs 36 hours of sunshine to fully charge its battery.

Mobiles or tablets can be charged using a USB connection. The branches of the tree are rotatable, so you can create any shape you like.

"Electree is delivered in modules which you assemble to create your own tree. This method makes it possible to produce an infinity of different shapes. You can model it according to your wishes and at the same time optimize the orientation of the photovoltaic cells and thus increase its effectiveness." shares the website.

Electree is currently available for pre-order and costs a whopping $370 for early birds.

Muller drew inspiration for this product from Mother nature and its intriguing process called 'photosynthesis'. Muller was inspired with how leaves (that act as solar panels) supply energy to the entire tree.

Although it took a long time for an innovative and creative 'solar-powered' base for charging our devices, but that wait has been worth-it. My only problem with Electree is the price, what do you say?
