A little while ago, we shared a unique book called 'The Real Cookbook' - world's first cookbook that you can read, cook and eat. Today we bring you another unique idea for a book that can literally be eaten in case of an emergency.

Imagine you are having one hell of a road trip in your Land Rover driving around in a desert. Now imagine losing your way and ending up alone under the scorching sun, with wild animals in close vicinity, no sign of help or rescue. We can safely call this an emergency, but if you have this book handy, you can find loads of tips and ideas on how you can survive in such a situation.

The book is a survival guide that teaches you how to build shelter, light fire, hunt and also helps you figure out a your way out using the North Star. And if nothing works, as a last resort you can always eat the book.

The book is made out of edible paper and ink, and is as nutritional as a cheese burger.

This entire concept is the brain child of an ad agency Y&R Dubai and Land Rover, this is what they have to say about a book that be eaten in emergencies:

Y&R Dubai researched every indigenous animal and plant, people could encounter in the Arabian Desert and how they could be used to survive. They studied the topography of the region to guide people to safety. The agency used a reflective packaging similar to army rations, which could be used to signal for help, and bound the book with a metal spiral, which could be used for cooking. Finally, the agency even took an extra step so that in case of emergency, people could always EAT the book. It was made out of edible ink and paper, and it had a nutritional value close to that of a cheeseburger.
