If you're looking to sell big priced services you may have to take a different approach to selling digital products. Attracting clients is looked upon as an art but it is a learn able skill and a system that can be put in place as part of your on-line business. Here's my 5 steps to bring in the bacon!...

Step 1 - Lots of free content, if you can give away stacks of great information you'll attract attention from search engines. This will be your initial start on the consulting road, as the people who read your information will sub consciously regard you as an authority.

Step 2 - Guest post on top websites, this will create high quality back links and search engines will recognise this over time and rank your posts higher for keywords. Also you'll start to build an email list and you can show those readers that not only they trust you but also other website owners with authority appreciate your work as well, this cements your credibility and will work towards increasing the value of your time and high ticket services.

Step 3 - Once you have an initial readership (500+ a month) you can at packaging some of your information and adding exclusive content to sell in the market place. Using a bigger site to publish it on like E-Junkie for a low price: $5.00 - $10.00

Step 4 - It's time to promote all your hard work and your product!. Many people look to the big industry names to promote but sometimes your better off thinking local and having a look at magazines or publications in your area with a small readership (Say 5,000). This way you'll get people talking in coffee shops about your website and you will start to get sales.

Step 5 - This is the final part and probably the best. Within your product you need to sell the benefits of your free email newsletter, show them an example and also try and get some of your readers to sing your praises in testimonials. The crucial part is that you are now building a "customer list" rather than just people that have experienced your free stuff. With those readers you need to drill down further as to what their current situation is in their niche and what their future goals are. For that I use a website called "Survey Monkey". This will also capture peoples telephone numbers and address's so you could invest money into these leads and send them high quality mail shots and offer a free phone consultation. If you are organised with your premium service you can run through the prices and email them a payment page link!

For many website owners it is very daunting to ask for thousands of dollars in return for your services. Even if you can get in place the first 4 steps and send out the survey to seed the idea that you can offer a higher level of service then you are ahead of 99% of website owners and bloggers that are trying to make money on-line.
