Self-taught French artist, Kaalam creates these intriguing images by using a hand-held light and long-exposure technique, a technique that is increasingly becoming a vogue in photography.
In 2001 Kaalam started creating calligraphy in Arabic, although he can write Arabic, but is unfamiliar with its spoken form. Therefore he created his own style by inventing a latin-based script influenced by Arabic. Whats interesting is, that his work is not only about calligraphy, but is also about choreography, and you will understand its importance in the images below.
His work requires incredible amount of hard work and accuracy, specially since there is no form of editing or retouching involved.
