Today Google has dedicated their doodle to Art (Arthur) Clokey, a pioneer in claymation who created iconic characters like Gumby and his horse Pokey.

It was him who introduced the art of stop motion clay animation (claymation) to world. An animation technique that uses characters made out of clay with the help of other materials like paper, cardboard, plastic or wires. The creator has to take a shot of every moment of all the characters, and then combine these shots to compile a video. Other than clay, a camera with a tripod and sculpting tools, it takes a hell lot of patience, imagination and creativity.

Inspired by Art Clokey, and his contribution to clay animation we would like to dedicate this post to him as a celebration of his 90th birth anniversary. We've searched some of the most creative claymation videos around the web, and other than being incredibly creative, all of these videos turned out to be immensely adorable...except for the bonus video...even for clay animation, it is pretty gruesome.
