What did you dream last night? Is it still making you wonder what it really meant? Well, it happens with me a lot of times and sometimes, I even feel reluctant to share them with anyone. And I am sure, many of us are sailing on the same boat.

Here I would like to introduce you to a very recent start-up called DreamDoze which lets you share your dreams socially, interpret others' dreams and maintain a Dream Journal as well. Archiving dreams is pretty cool..isn't it?

Besides a wonderful concept, DreamDoze has an excellent website design. It looks as if we have actually landed in a place where 'only' dreams are talked about. We have its two wonderful founders with us, Hanan Weiskopf and Ehud Zamir to talk about DreamDoze. Lets learn more about 'DreamDoze - Social Dream Interpretations':

Please introduce yourself to E-junkies.

We are Hanan Weiskopf and Ehud Zamir - childhood buddies, serial entrepreneurs and co-founders of DreamDoze.com. In the past few years we have also created a few other social websites: wepapers.com (where we made academic knowledge freely accessible), kidopo.com (which provides games, printable coloring pages and crafts for kids for free) and a few other more.

Tell us about the fascinating concept 'DreamDoze' uses.

The concept behind DreamDoze is social dream interpretation. We want to collect and organize the dreams we all have in a cloud-based dream journal, where people share their dreams and analyze them for each other.

Basically, we want to let everyone get their dream interpreted for free. What makes DreamDoze great is that each dream can be interpreted in any number of ways by different people.

How did you come up with creating 'DreamDoze'? Do you have any story to share?

The idea of DreamDoze came to us in sort of a strange way.

We are both deeply influenced by the Jungian theory of Collective Unconscious, which claims that all human beings share the same unconscious reservoir of archetypal dreams and in a way, one great unconscious mind. Sort of like the internet.

One day during a trip to Amsterdam we were experimenting with hallucinogenic mushrooms, and while discussing our own recent dreams and trying to interpret them, we both simultaneously thought about how the world can use the internet to chronicle and interpret humanity’s dreams.

The very next day we purchased the domain DreamDoze.com and started to work.

If you have to list the top three features of 'DreamDoze', what would they be?

DreamDoze basically has three main features.

First, you can get your dreams solved for free. Amateur and professional dream interpreters line up to solve dreams. Then you can rate your favorite interpretations. Of course, the interpreters enjoy free exposure, so everyone wins.

The second feature is the Dream Journal - you can share and record your dreams in a cloud-based journal. You can access your dream journal from any computer or smartphone, any time you want.
This feature has another important benefit - recording your dreams in a dream journal is crucial in experiencing lucid dreaming.

And of course, by recording your dreams you don’t need to worry about them vaporizing to space.

What kind of reception has 'DreamDoze' had so far?

So far we’ve had a really great reception. We just got out of ‘beta’ and already we are featured in E-Junkie :) And people seem to love our little social network, because they get something quite unique - a deep insight to their unconscious psyche.

We got some really sweet feedback for our design and interface, which we put a lot of hours in creating.

We can’t wait to hear more responses.

Though it has been a small journey, but we would love to know your fondest experience with 'DreamDoze'.

My fondest experience with DreamDoze was actually a very recent one.

When we got out of beta, I shared a dream that I had that day, about a ferris wheel.

I was happy beyond explanation to find 2 exact interpretations after just a couple of hours. One of them was by a professional dream interpreter.

What are your dreams/vision for 'DreamDoze'?

Our vision is quite ambitious. We aim to create the world’s largest collection of dreams.

Our goal is to document humanity’s unconscious experiences, wishes, desires and memories - our dreams. All in all, we aim to help millions of people understand their deepest psyche, and allow them to use this knowledge to better their lives.

Now that DreamDoze is up and running, what is the biggest challenge?

The biggest challenge is probably building the community. While a lot of people realize the importance of dreams and understanding them, it’s only a small fraction of the world’s population. We want to create the world’s largest group of dreamers and interpreters, and that is going to take a helluva lot of effort.

On what promotional methods you're relying upon to spread the word about your start-up?

Right now we are getting the majority of our traffic through word-to-mouth. We hope to get widespread media attention, but in the meanwhile we’re focusing on creating the best website we can.

What message do you have for our readers?

Join us. DreamDoze will solve your dreams, enrich your life and possibly teach you more about yourself than any other website.

Hanan and Ehud, thank you for the interview. I personally really like DreamDoze's concept and I am sure it will be loved by many very soon. Best wishes from E-junkie! :)
