Kiva Ford is a New York based glassblowing artist. Having graduated with a degree in Scientific Glassblowing, he has been creating complex glass instruments for scientist's use. He is a perfectionist in manipulating and playing with the glass and it is reflected in his intricate designs of glasswork. Beyond the scientific community, his span of creations ranges from bottles and pendants to vessels and goblets . He creates all of his work entirely by hand.
Kevi is also a member of the American Scientific Glassblowers Society. His work has been featured in Time New York and in art galleries throughout NY and New Jersey.
He also teaches at the Jersey City Art School, and conducts glass workshops throughout the year.
"I find glass to be both beautiful and fascinating; Almost magical. It gives me the ability to quickly yield creative results. It's risky. If you make one wrong move, you could lose hours of work. I find that aspect of my medium fun and challenging. Also, playing with fire is pretty cool, too." says the artist.
