Like most bloggers, Beckie's blog started off as a personal blog where she shared her new life after moving across the country and published those day-to-day projects that she worked on. Little did she know that it would turn out to be her full time job and that her ideas will inspire thousands of her readers to create and craft.

After finding her Infarrantly Creative blog and the crafty gal behind it, we just had to learn more about her and her wonderful ideas.

Beckie has been very sweet to spare some time for a small interview with us, so lets catch her creative life below:

Beckie, please introduce yourself to E-junkies.

I am Beckie, author of Infarrantly Creative and the newly launched Knock Off Décor. I am also a mom to two little ones and wife to one. I am a red-headed, left-handed, frugal-living, faith-walking, truth-speaking, creative-minded, purpose-driven, leadership-seeking, spray-painting, fun-loving Midwest girl living in the land of corn and the Colts.

Tell us about your wonderful blog 'Infarrantly Creative'. What do you blog about?

I am a creative blogger. So I blog about creative endeavors, but I totally vary in what I do. Sometimes I am working on a house project, sometimes upholstering furniture, painting, sewing, using Mod Podge or breaking out my power tools. I don’t have any one medium that I love. My goal is to bee jill-of-all-trades, master of none.

When did you start blogging? With what mission you'd start your blog, what or who is the inspiration behind it?

I started blogging almost 4 years ago. I had just moved across the country and it was my way of keeping in contact with where I had just moved from. I thought a blog would be a good idea, that way if people wanted to read they could. If not, I wasn’t inundating them with emails about my family. It started out as a personal blog and then I showed some of the projects I was working on and it evolved from there. I never thought it would become my job.

You love recycling and re-purposing. How did you get interested in this concept?

I guess because I am cheap. I would see these amazing pieces of furniture on the side of the road and I was appalled people would throw them away. When I get something for free or cheap it gives me complete freedom to be creative because there isn’t any expense involved. If it doesn’t work out I can just put it back where I found it. I also love that there is a story behind each piece that I own. I love thinking about my new console table’s former life as a TV and thinking about the joy it brought a family gathered around it. The fact that I could use it in my house as something different makes it unique.

What was your first project? How was the experience working on it?

My first project was refinishing all the furniture that had gotten damaged in our cross country move. I had never refinished furniture before and decided to teach myself. I had some very sentimental pieces that I did not want to give up. So I was forced to learn how to make them beautiful again. It was long and laborious but there was such a sense of pride when I was done. The fact that I could restore life to something was very empowering to me.

Which project has been closest to your heart so far? And Why?

'Infarrantly Creative' has so many admirers! How does it feel to own this beautiful blog? Blessed. That is the best way to describes it. I am so humbled that people come to see the projects I am working on. The belief that I could inspire someone to step out of their comfort zone and feel the power of creating or restoring is pretty unbelievable to me – that’s what keeps me going.

What are the challenges you faced when you launched your blog?

When I decided to launch myself and really try to make an income from the blogging the hardest thing was there are so many other talented women out there. I had to really figure out what I wanted and what made Infarrantly Creative unique and go with it. It is extremely challenge to measure yourself only against yourself and not at the other talent out there.

According to you, what is the key to a successful blog?

Never straying away from doing what you love to do. It is hard when money is thrown your way not to look at those dollar signs and become what other people want you to be. I also believe aligning yourself with like minded bloggers and really helping and having each other’s back is vital. You need to find your place of belonging.

What are the other things that interests you? Share with us your favourite activities when not working?

I love hanging out with my husband. After almost 13 years of marriage I can’t get enough of him. I will also show the nerdy side of me...I love factory tours. I am kind of a junkie. I love learning how things come to be I guess.

Many aspiring bloggers would draw inspiration from you. What message do you have for them?

Bottom line - Blog because you love to. If blogging ever loses the joy for you then don’t be afraid to say goodbye. Never lose sight of what makes your blog unique.

Thanks Beckie for an inspirational and a wonderful interview. We wish you the very best! :)
