Jack Dorsey, along with Evan Williams and Biz Stone started a 140 character trend that has brought the world a lot closer and has made micro-blogging so popular that there is an archive of tweets stored in Library of Congress for research and data preservation.
So how did it all start?
Jack Dorsey talks about the inception of Twitter and how it came into existence during the time when he was working in a consumer podcasting company, Odeo.
He shares that he was fascinated with the technology of SMS and wanted to come up with a service that allowed one person to send a text to a group of people. So, in a children's park over Mexican food the idea of Twitter came into being.
"We came across the word 'Twitter', and it was just perfect. The definition was 'a short burst of inconsequential information' and 'chirps from birds'. And that's exactly what the product was." shares Jack Dorsey.
