Not too long ago Twitter had introduced a 'Who to follow' feature which is pretty  much similar to Facebook's 'People you may know' feature. And now the largest micro-blogging site has come up another feature similar to Facebook called 'Connections' which is very much like Facebook's 'Mutual Friends' feature.

This latest addition displays a list of common follows between two profiles and also common followers.

Twitter has eliminated its previous 'Followed by' and 'Who to follow' feature and from now on whenever you visit a profile you will notice common connections between you two, although like Facebook it doesn't give you the number of common connections, but you can always see the entire list.

A Twitter representative emailed Mashable saying, "We launched this to make it easy for you to see the connections that you have in common with other users. Basically, we're focused on the mainstream market around the world. We want to make the Twitter experience easy and enjoyable."

Carolyn Penner from Twitter says, "By exposing accounts that you and another user have in common, you will now know how those accounts are connected to other accounts you already follow. As a result, you'll be able to make more informed decisions about which accounts to follow."

I think its an interesting and useful feature which will further help users in deciding whether its worth following someone's tweet or not; other than tweets and number of followers, common connections can hugely help in bagging more followers. Perhaps this will help Twitter to move a step further in the social graph and user experience.
