Google-owned site, YouTube has recently introduced its latest project called YouTube trends which is pretty much similar to Google Trends but rather than tracking most popular searches this project aims to keep a close tab on the most popular videos.

"A destination for daily insight into the zeitgeist of the world's largest video site" defines Kevin Alloca, YouTube Trends Manager.

"With over 35 hours of video now uploaded to YouTube every minute, we wanted one place to distill the videos people were sharing and discussing with their friends as well as understand what YouTube could teach us about our culture and current events." explains Kevin.

Their algorithmically-generated feeds has bifurcated trends into following categories: Best of '10, Culture, International, Music, Politics, Sports, World, Breaking News, Holidays, Local, Newsroom, Search and Viral. YouTube will also present a collection of videos called '4 at 4' where they will look out for four most viral videos on YouTube and publish them everyday at 4 in the morning and 4 in the evening.

You can also browse most popular videos based on your location and age.
