Eternal Flame Sculptures

Posted: 11/08/2010
A display tool that is a creation triggered out of necessity of an artist who refuses to settle for anything less than perfect.

John T. Unger is many things apart from being a talented artist, "On the way to a successful art career I've been a poet and writer, a tech geek, a print and web designer, illustrator, industrial designer, musician, teacher, actor, set designer and even a paid guru once." he shares.

And yes, he is a small business owner too. He makes his living out of firebowls...not regular boring firebowls but truly artistic ones. And Eternal Flame Sculptures were created when he couldn't display his firebowls with live fire in an art fair; the fake flames in the market didn't stand up to his perfection.

Therefore, the artist that he is, rather than settling for fake flames he created these wonderfully vibrant and colorful Flame Sculptures.

"Although their bright colors and cheerful look could fool you, they are made from 100% recycled steel." he describes.

John loves to recycle and most of his products are made out of recycled or re-used materials, "this is the best way I know to minimize my impact on natural resources, climate and the environment" he adds.

His firebowls are as interesting as his recycle art, he creates illustrations out of bottle caps and glass, check out the images below to get a glimpse of some of the many fascinating creations by John T. Unger.
