There are loads of Lego enthusiasts out there who come up with extraordinary ideas when it comes to creating some thing out these evergreen toy bricks.
It took 2,400 lego blocks combined with lots of patience to build this BattleBricks MakerLegoBot Printer that is not only made out Lego but also prints Lego.
The concept behind 3D print of Legos is "sticky grab and axle release mechanism" which basically picks a Lego block and places it in a predetermined spot. A Java application carries a set of print instructions and sends them to the printer via USB.

"It took many nights and many iterations to get the feed system working consistently. The current design works with 1x2, 2x2, 3x2, 4x2, and 8x3 Lego bricks. Once a brick is grabbed, the next brick in line falls into place." explains the inventor of this fascinating machine.
