Adding geotagging feature seems to be the ongoing trend among many social networking sites. Twitpic has also introduced a new feature that allows users to add locations to their photos, this new integration of location-based feature uses Twitter's Places services.
The geotagged photos will now be searchable based on their location and one can also view history of all the places they've visited through the images on Twitpic.
Users will be able add location to images that are uploaded only on Twitpic website and not any other 3rd party Twitter application.

"Today we officially announced a new feature for TwitPic that integrates some great location-aware features using Twitter’s new Places service. For a long time, we have wanted to be able to put a location with a photo. It adds meaning, and it is also a great tool for businesses to stay on top of things. Since we are using Twitter Places, you can not only say that a photo was taken in “Charleston, SC”, but you can also say that the photo was taken at “Starbucks, 239 King St., Charleston, SC”, for instance." Twitpic announced on their blog.
Not only can you geotag a new image that you upload, but also update your existing pictures by adding locations to them. Although there has been shortcomings when it comes to their Places Search function, if your photo does not have a location data stored with it then you can search for the place but this feature is not as refined as it should be.
Not too long ago, Twitpic celebrated 10 million users, who have been sharing their pictures in Twitter through their services. On this occasion they'd introduced Face Tagging, and have also launched Photo events in recent times.
